(Luke 24:38, 39)
I first heard The Mullins sing this song many years ago and it’s one of the most beautiful acappella arrangements I’ve ever heard. It’s special to me not only because of the stunning harmonies, but because of the thought that when Jesus comes I’ll recognize Him not just by the clouds of glory and the accompanying angels, but by the nail prints in His hands.
Michael Card notes in his song “Known by the Scars” that the nail prints are “the marks of death that God chose never to erase.” I believe that those nail prints will be the reason that sin will never again appear in the New Earth. And because of those prints, I can have the opportunity to live there eternally with Jesus.

When my life work is ended
And I cast my cares aside
And the bright and glorious morning
I shall see
I shall know my Redeemer
When I meet Him in the sky
And His smile will be the first
to welcome me
I shall know Him
I shall know Him
And redeemed by His side
I shall stand
I shall know Him
I shall know Him
By the prints of the nails in His hand
