In the above verse, David calls God his “refuge and…shield,” then goes on to say “I have put my hope in Your word.” David was a warrior. He knew the importance of a strong shield and a reliable sword (Eph. 6:17).

Every Christian is also a warrior, and God hasn’t left us unarmed or unprotected. His word is all we need to fight the battles we face.
